Mumbai Meri Jaan

Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, Mumbai, my home.

Mumbai as a city

I was born and brought up in the city of dreams, and I am gonna today write of  Mumbai.
so to start with, the business capital is now evolving. Now, no religion of gender defines where you stand but the work you do as  a citizen. Gender equality is getting more and more- speaking of which, i would like to include one more of my published poem:

Even I

Even I can race cars,
be a superhero flying with the stars.
Even I can dream of sailing in the sea,
play, jump and bruise my knee.

For I was born to my mother,
am half of my father.
I'm what nature made me,
be it a he or a she.

Even I can play with dolls,
read of princesses in balls.
Even I can love dance,
oh please, give me a chance.

For I was born to my mother,
am half of my father.
I'm what nature made me,
be it a he or a she.

do comment and tell me how was the poem!!
Coming back to where I was, despite Mumbai being a part of Maharashtra, there is a wide mix of tradition, with an urban twist. If you are born in Mumbai, you will be quite at home in here. Say you are new, the city will still find a place in your heart.

The life of a Mumbaikar

I am personally so accustomed to this insomnia of a city, that I find a part of myself missing whenever I go to silent countrysides. Perhaps it has made me a city girl. Every Mumbaikar has a taste for spicy. I can never pass a chat stall without having panipuri  or bhel. We also live double lives. Once we might be shopping in an air conditioned mall, and the next second there is a bargain session at a sabjhi mandi. autorikshaws, and crowded busses are a part of a the state capital. What do you expect? it is amchi Mumbai

This is the life of a Mumbaikar. Do tell me if  you related to it!! And don't forget to subscribe if you want to be the first one to know when i put a new post!!
Stay home, stay lively
😀
P.s: i have added a new feature of translation in the sidebar. Check it out and tell me if it works, i need a feedback!!
