Discrimination
hi
I am not writing a poem today, instead, I'll write my opinion on discrimination. I'm a brown-skinned Indian, just like my father. My mom is fair. She has HER father's skin colour. But yes, we are pure Indians. My parents being of 2 different religions, I never felt that casts are different. Since I was old enough to figure it out, I have always felt that we humans are the only ones to make this divide.
Gender discrimination
I am a girl. I'm fortunate enough to belong to a family that treats all genders as equal. now, gender discrimination is, treating a particular gender unfairly. Women are, in many places, given unfair disadvantages. It is a type of gender discrimination. But even if men are given unfair disadvantages, it is gender discrimination, too.
Pseudo feminism
Feminism is the fight for women to be treated equally like any other person. pseudo feminism is asking women to be treated and given more privileges. the difference is that the former asks everyone to be treated equally, while the other chooses inequality- just like how men are treated better than women (in some places). It is in my opinion that I feel that pseudo feminism is just another type of gender discrimination. We will be looking at a truly equal world when women don't hate men, and men don't hate women.
Racial discrimination
As mentioned earlier, I am dark-skinned. However, in India, it is not too dark too. In regions of high sunlight and heat, our skin produces more melanin. This melanin prevents diseases and sunburns. More the presence of melanin, darker the skin. In India, Africa and other countries, it is hereditary, as we adapt to our climate.
It hurts to realise that we Indians ourselves tease those with darker skin. Why do we allow brands to change our mentality?
It is, IMAO, stupid to first reduce the melanin in our skin, and then take treatment for skin diseases. It is a different story for those in countries with a 'fairer' complexion. Their region is such that they don't need such large amounts of melanin. But here, we need it to prevent sunburns.
Ever heard of tanning? in this, our body, due to high sunlight, creates more melanin. IT IS THE SAME THING AS DARK COMPLEXION!!
I have only one thing to say:
all racist people, please don't say "in my opinion."
racism, sexism, classism was never an opinion.
It is simply wrong.
note to readers- it is often possible that even though you agree to the fact, your views can be different. Please understand that this is purely MY VIEW. no one has any influence on this thought. I will be happy to listen to your views in the comments section. Let's maintain a peaceful atmosphere ☺
